The Drill...

The earliest drill was used by the Egyptians, They were not electrical.

Drills are very handy and they are good for building things, lucky for us this invention was created by Arthur James Arnot, In 1889, and he made the first electric one, six years later in 1895, a man called William Fein invented a portable drill.

Kapa Haka!

As I walked into the yacht club, I saw lots of trophies. I walk over by the stage and stood respectfully, I herd the guitar playing that's when I knew I had to sway my hips. I smiled at Mr and Mrs Burt. After a great performance there was a great speech by Mr Burt (Our Principle). This event was to thank people that help us to get these net books.
After our the speech we had finger food it was delicious !

I would like to thank the people who work at the Yacht Club for having us there, and I would also like to thank our guitarist Sam- ( A student at My school- Pt England school)

Thanks!!!!

Fiafia Night Was Awesome!

As I stood on the side of the stage my was heart pumping, my palms were sweaty. I heard a beautiful sound coming from our Kaia - Shontal, she was amazing, some people close to her were happy and some were even crying, I feel so happy because it felt like I got more Kaha (Strong/Strength ) from her. She leads our group by an example.
Then I hear the guitar start to play that's when I put on my big smile!
The Kapa Haka group was the opening, and I was in it. We only had 4 minutes to complete our performance.
After a great start to Fiafia night I had another performance to do, I was also in Glee.

The Glee group was so Cheesey! It was just so over the top!
I really liked the dance and how we have different turns, and it all made a story. It was all about a girl who was like the head cheerleader or something, she likes a boy on the football team. We had a boys football team!

Thanks to all the teachers who taught us in such a short time.
Another big thanks the glee teachers, and our talented Mubbashira who taught the Indian.

My favourite teacher.....

My favourite reading teacher was Mrs Katu, Sadly she passed away from a long illness.
She always used to help me with my reading, and if it wasn't for her I would not know how to read. I always used to get stickers from her. She was a very kind and generous lady. I feel really sad because I miss Mrs Katu and I had not seen her since last year.
I attended her funeral service last night, it was very sad.
I wish the Katu family all the best....

Life Education

A couple of weeks ago we had and she a lovely lady names Lyn that came and taught
us about making choices, we make choices everyday. We watched a movie and it was about how smoking is really bad for you, There are 4,000 chemicals in the tabaico and 200 can give you cancer. Over 5,000 people die from smoking a year. I want to thank Lyn for coming to teach us, and she made me think: To not give up smoking NEVER start!
There is one special thing I am forgetting of course its Harold, hes a giraffe.
Thanks again for coming to our school Lyn and Harold.

The trip to the Maritime Museum

As we headed out to sea in blustery conditions, the icy wind blew through my hair. The waves made a whipping sound as they hit the side of the boat. It took a mighty team effort to hoist the sail. As it started to drizzle we donned on our bright wind breakers.

My Imovie of Rangitoto Eruption....

Rangitoto is the biggest volcano in Auckland, It had a violent eruption 600 years ago.
It was the last to erupt so it probably makes it the youngest. It had 10-50 time gap, It probably erupted twice.

My Portrait...

This is my portrait and I never thought it would have turned out as good as this.
I am so proud of my work because I am not an artist but I draw what I can. My music notes at the back of my portrait repesent the fact that I love singing. I get my secret voice from my sister, she is an important role model in my life.

I hope you can get a few tips from my portrait!

Acrostic Poem

Shaniah,Racheal,Cruz, and Tanielu.
Point England School is the way to go.
Stop think and do is what we know.
Everyone must participate, never give up that's the way.
The treaty was made in 1840, now we celebrate terrific glory.
People are brainy at Point England School.
The korero is to be kind to each other, its a rule.

BY AN AWESOME GROUP.....

The Bungy jump...

Standing on the edge I could feel my legs shaking, My heart was beating like there was no tomorrow. As I put my hands, the count down had begun. My hands started to shake, then I knew why, 1,2,3, JUMP! As I jumped off the bridge I could hear the sound of little waves. I look down and in no time I was near the water. I yelled "YaaHoo"!
My heart was still beating fast but knew that was a proud feeling. It was finally over, "YAY"! I couldn't believe it. I was so happy, I was speech less.

I HAD CONQUERED MY FEARS.
