My Fitness level

"I have to at least get up to level 2", I mumbled.....

Running to the line I could feel my heart thumping and people cheering my name. I thought This isn't that hard. BUT I spoke too soon. This beep test was harder than it looked. A beep test is when you run 20m to a line and back continuously until you basically faint.

There is only 20 levels that you can go up to and this is one way to show how fit you are.

This was my very first time to do this test, it was very disappointing as my score was 2.6.

I think I could have done better than that but we can only get better at things.

The next time we participate in this test I will be sure to get over level 4 in order to achieve this goal I need to practice, and run more often.

My Creative name...

We had to create our own names. You could write your name, or draw your name, you could alse do a lot of different things. My design was created on Hyperstudio, I drew it myself and tried to put some ideas into it, but I am not a great drawer.

My Goal....

My goal shows that i need to improve on my shooting. I need to practice practice practice and it makes perfect.

Tricky Triangles...

This picture represents the interior angles of a triangle.

I found out that interior angle adds up to 180 degrees.

If you have done more then one of these shapes you will know that this is true for any Triangle.

Netball time !

For the first time I was not feeling nervous, I was really overjoyed. I was ready to play an intense game, we were playing against Remuera Intermediate.

“One two three Point England” ! We all cheered,
I was getting ready to play my first game for the year.

As the referee blew the whistle we stepped onto the court.
The first third of the game was really competitive.
The ball felt like it was just floating across the court and into our goal, we were winning but the score could always change it was a challenge with the right amount of people and we could not have a rest only on half time. But we were great threw the whole game.
We won the game by 2 points- 8 to 6, by the end on the game I was feeling so lethargic.

I would like to thank our great coach Missy for giving us great advice and giving us great learning skills, you are awesome!

Geometry!

In Room 20 we were learning about geometry. My picture shows two box's and Mrs Nua explained how to do this we had to choose a shape and my one is a square then we had to move our shape 2 down and 2 across . We created it on Google Docs , It was a challenge for me, I am looking forward to doing more of these challenges. To get through this challenge I worked with Sylvia , and Selena.

Geometry Translation means moving shapes with out re-sizing it.

Tech@Tamaki Was Awesome!

My teacher for technology is really talented and really smart, I have learnt a lot because he taught us how to make things, like when we get a little bit more older we can learn how to make remote controlled cars!

In my picture I need to connect a battery so that the light can work, I have cooper around my simple circuit and I have soldered around the cooper because it is not connected properly and then I soldered my light and battery connection.

It was a really great experience!

Rock Up!

On Monday the 16Th of March I attended The Point England school Camp- Camp Take Charge.
We camped out at our school but we went to different activities my favourite Activity was Rock up.

Tension was in the air and I had a million butterfly crawling around in my tummy, because I was poised on the end of the dunkee set, I sat there for quite a while because I had two brave people trying to hit the ball away from . Once The ball hit the button it felt like I was going to sink into the water. It was a great experience for me and I cant wait to try new things threw out this year.

Thank you to all the people who helped out at Camp, AND I ALSO THANK THE COOKS THE FOOD WAS BEAUTIFUL!

Softball!

Stepping on the field I was really nervous, it was my second year in a row to make it into the softball team. I bent my knees and hit the ball, yeah! I got to base 1 quickly and then I tried to steel a base but I was unlucky and got out, I thought next time I am gonna get home. I was the last person to get out so it was side away I put my glove on and ran to the out fielding position I missed quite a few balls but, I never gave up. My next position was shortstop I found that position more my type I caught 1 ball and got to people out on base 3 in a row.

My highlight for this game was one of our schools Korero's It was Champions Never Give, the reason why I picked Champions Never Give up is because everyone in our team was really good and at the start of the game we said that we don't think we are gonna win because all the teams were really talented, but we came 5th out of the all of the teams, I think we could have done better but I am really proud of our team, and I would like to Thank Missy and one of our teacher's: Miss Vaafusiaga for giving us really good advice and teaching us things that we never knew

Gum Is Dumb!

Taonga Time!

Getting caught by small student at school I fell into their arm. I was frightened because they might of dropped me, But this event was about trusting so I just took a chance and Trusted them.
our next trusting job was we had a rope tied to 2 trees and we had a long piece of wood and we had to get our group over the rope with out touching it. But we had a time, we didn't have to beat a time but we had to every one over the rope and the piece of wood. We kind of cheated because we swapped 4 big people for 4 small people because they were to scared to get over and stand on the wood for the small people it was easy and I thing 2 people were good at leading our group they were: Tamara and Tamati. During that event I learnt to trust people and that everyone is able to do something.

Thank you to Mr Bark who was our teacher, he made me do something that I thought I couldn't do.

My Hot Holidays

During my holidays I went to the movies with my favorite Auntie Lisa, we watched Gulliver Travels.

Its all about a man who lives his life as a mail man, he lies about a lot of things because he likes this girl. He goes on a boat but he lies and says that knows how to do this job on the boat. He falls alseep on his trip and a huge wave leaps over his head and he gets traped on a island where tiny people stay.
He says he is a super hero.

I was intersted in this movie because the guy his real name is Jack Black and I like his acting.

My favorite Part about the movie was when he falls in love and makes all the tiny peoples enymies become their best friends.

Thats 1 thing that I did in my holidays.

Netbook time!

WOW! I had never thought this day would come!
I had the box planted into my hands just waiting to be opened. I carefully opened the box and I got out my Brand new netbook, as Mrs Tele'a gave me my name to stick on the front, I knew it was finally mine.

My heart pounded as I pressed the botton. It was like my face was cramped with a smile. Awesome I cant wait until I can find more cool things on my new netbook!

Terrible Christchurch Earthqake

Looking at photos of places I can only describe this as chaos, people every where worried and shaken up. some worried about loved ones. Cars are demolished and Schools are piled in rubbles. This occurred in a time where no one was a where or knew that this terrible situation was going to happen.

Hooray!

After having a hot day at school I came home to a great big pool and lots of balloons on the garage I had forgotten about my nieces 5th birthday.... Everyone was saying Happy birthday Syriah and I had on just clicked.

We had a treat of KFC for her birthday dinner, we also had a pool party. Wahhhoooo I was having so fun, My family all swam and we all stayed in the pool for 3 Hours!

It was so nice to catch up with all my family again!

My Niece Syriah will be starting school on Monday.

The Beginning Of A Fantastic Year !

First Assembly for the start of the year, I felt important,and I felt like a young adult because the year 7 and 8 students got to sit on the chairs. During the assembly I was focusing on our topic, each term we have something that we study about and write about, this terms topic is Responsibility and Taking Charge.
To me Taking Charge means to clean up your mess and look after yours and others belongings .

I cant wait until next Friday.

Athletics Day!

YAY! Its a beautiful day... The sun is out and it is a great start to our school athletics day.

Every year we have a school athletics day, we have house colours as well . My group is Takitimu. These are the other groups: Tainui ,Te Arawa , and Mataatua.

We have 6 events, They are: Shot put , Discus , High jump ,Javelin (this is a new event-we just started this year) Sprints (75m-100m), and Softball throw.

Before we head out to our events we have to remember to Slip slop slap on some sunscreen and a hat, so we don't get Sun Burn.

As the year 6 and 7’s walk just out of the school grounds, we see cones and a box of softball’s.
Our leader Ms Tito, a teacher in our school gives us instructions on how to throw a softball.
I was the second to last person so I had a fear idea of how to throw a softball.

Finally I stepped up to the line with the soft ball in my hand, tension is in the air and my nerves are building up, because I am competing against great throwers.

“Okay, I can do this”
THUMP! The softball went farther then I thought it would go.

YES! I came 3rd out of the year 7, 12 year old girl.

My Volcano imovie

As part of Immersion we spent time finding out all about volcanoes. It was hard work but I manged to make a movie about how volcanoes erupt!
I hope you enjoy my movie and maybe even learn something from it.
